Marie Jones Lane, age 81 of Maryville, TN, passed away peacefully at her home Tuesday, February 2, 2010. Marie was a wonderful, loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt. Along with her sister, "Miss Lucy", Marie operated "Peanuts Playschool" impacting many, many children and their families' lives. She touched the lives of everyone who knew her with her passion and love for children and life itself. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Verdia Jones; sister, Wenona Wilburn, brothers Floyd, and Lyle Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, J.D. (Toby) Lane; sons, Larry Lane and wife, Sibby; and Rick Lane; grandchildren, Jeana Rogers and husband Eric, Jennifer Abernathy and husband Keith, and Anna Herin and husband Ernie; great-grandchildren Elijah, Issac, and Madalyn Herin, Jake and Reed Abernathy, and Scarlett Rogers; sisters, Lucy Hatley, Hildred Lunsford; brothers, Eugene Jones and wife, Molly; J.C. Jones and wife, Peggy; brother-in-law, Floyd Lane; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Thursday, February 4, 2010, from 6- 7:00 pm at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 7:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Hatley officiating.
Family and friends will meet at 10:00 Friday morning, February 5, 2010, at Grandview Cemetery for the interment service.
