Died, at the home of her daughter Mrs. Philip Blue, at the
Makeever house, Thursday evening, at seven o'clock and four minutes,
Mrs. Sarah Baylor, aged eighty-four years, nine months and fourteen
days.
The funeral services were held at Trinity M. E. church Friday
afternoon conducted by the reverend Dr. R. D. Utter, Interment in
Weston cemetery.
Deceased maiden name was Sarah Spacker, and was born in Washington County, Penn. March 23, 1812, and was married in Ohio to
Jacob S. Baylor, whose demise occurred Dec. 2, 1880, in this city.
One of their seven children, Henry, died Feb. 1st, 1859, aged
but five years. The surviving children are: James of Oregon, John
of Utah, Martin of Elwood, Ind., Mrs. Webb of Delta, Ohio, Mrs.
Mowry of Burket, Ind., and Mrs. Philip Blue of Rensselaer.
Mother Baylor was converted when quite young, and always
lived a sincere christian life. She was a member of the Methodist
Episcopal church some sixty-five or seventy years.
She was a woman who possessed many noble traits of character
which endeared her to her family and many friends.
