Emmett Acock first married Fannie Phillips. She preceded him in death in 1902.

Emmett Acock married his sister-in-law, Sallie Elizabeth Phillips on 28 December 1905 at Cleburne, Johnson County, Texas.
Emmett and Sallie Acock came to Young County in 1925. He worked for the Graham Mill and Elevator beginning in 1925 as a teamster until he retired. After his retirement, he worked at his son's drive-in grocery store, on North Tennessee until he was 87 years old. He was a retired businessman.
Survivors: sons - Marion Acock, Lee Acock; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Mrs. B.J. Acock.
