Walter's adoptive parents (William McClish and Eva McClish) were first cousins.
Though Walter's obit states he was born in 1897, his gravestone (including WWI marker) has 1896.
Walter had a brother, Clarence, who's last name is given as "TRUMAN" in a number of records, as this was also given in Walter's obit. Walter's mother's obit gave his name as "Walter Thurman McClish", leading some researchers to believe "THURMAN" was his biological father's last name. I believe TRUMAN was the actual last name based on the perpondance of its use.
