Mrs. John Trapp who has been in very poor health for some time died at her home, one mile south and one-half mile
east of Bruning, Wednesday, Oct. 21.
The funeral will be held Friday at 1:30 at the house
and at 2 o'clock at the church.

Obituary:

Engel Friedriecke Bruning, daughter of Gerhard and Maria
Bruning, wife of John F. Trapp, was born on March 15th., 1886, at Bruning, Nebr. She was baptized in her infancy in this church, and in 1902, having been duly instructed in
the teachings of God's Word, she renewed the covenant made with God in holy Baptism, and at this alter vowed
allegiance to God and the Savior Jesus Christ. And this
covenant made with God in her baptism and Confirmation was the rule and guide throughout her earthly life.

On June 12th, 1913, she entered into holy wedlock with
John Fredrick Trapp. The marriage was solemnized here. Their union was blessed with four daughters and one son.

Mrs. Trapp was a faithful Christian wife and mother. Diligently, cheerfully and in a quiet way she performed her duties toward her husband and her children, bringing up the latter in the fear and admonition of the Lord, always setting her household a good example of true Christian piety.

She began to fail in health during the last 18 months of
her sojourn here. Finally lung trouble developed,
and since the later part of August of this year she was confined to bed. For a while it seemed as though her state
of health was on the mend. Then, last week, complications set in, and it pleased the Lord to take her from this earth last Wednesday morning, October 21st, at the age of 45 years, 7 months and 6 days.

Her father, her mother and three of her brothers
preceded her in the realm eternal.

Her demise is mourned by her husband, her sisters. Mrs. Margaret Ortgies of Bruning; Mrs. Doris Dierks of Milford, Ind., Mrs. Marianna Apking of Lincoln, Nebr., her brothers Robert, George and Adolph Bruning of Bruning, and a
large number of more distant relatives and friends.
But, though perhaps not realized at this time, the
loss of their mother will be most sorely felt by her children Emma, Lenore, Fern, Dorothy and John Jr.,
all minors, and all at an age when they can least dispense
a mother's loving care. May the Lord God deal kindly with them according to His gracious promise and be their rod and staff. And may He grant the departed mother the rest and blessing which is in store for the people of God.

Funeral services at the house and the Trinity Lutheran Church, Friday Oct. 23, at 2 p.m.
Interment in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, beside her
deceased father and mother.
