Cornell Woolrich was an author of hundreds of short stories and dozens of novels (mostly crime and suspense fiction), under his own name, and also under the pen names William Irish, and George Hopley. Dozens of his stories and novels have been made into moves (most famously Hitchcock's "Rear Window").
