LONG RESIDENT OF COUNTY DIES.
Lewis M. Stanley of Montpelier passed away early Saturday
Relative Richmond College Founder
Lewis M. Stanley, 81 (or 91), a resident of Blackford county since 1872, passed away at the home of his son, Lloyd Stanley, in Montpelier, early Saturday morning. He was a relative of J.P. Rawlings of this city, and was also related to the Stanley who founded Earlham college, at Richmond, Ind.
The funeral will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock from the late home.
Mr. Stanley formerly lived just south of Montpelier. On one occasion he was badly injured while crossing the traction line. His death was not caused by his injuries, however, for he succumbed to the infirmities of age. He had been ill only a week.
Surviving are three children, who are Mrs. Dora Koontz of Cincinnati.; ? J. Stanley, of Muncie, and Lloyd Stanley, of Montpelier. Four brothers and sisters living in Delaware county survive.
