Obituary of Jacob Bierly
Jacob Bierly was born May 8, 1925. Died at his home at Surrey, Ind., March 10, 1898, aged 72years 10 months and 2 days.
He was married to Miss Mary A. Groom September 25, 1870. To them were born nine children, seven of whom are living, two having died in infancy. Those living are William, Milton and Miss Rena Bierly; Mrs. Etta Clemmens, Mrs. Minnie Sayers, Mrs. Lucy Smithe and Mrs. Nellie Freeland.
Mrs. Bierly died ten years ago February 28, since which time the deceased lived with his children on his farm near Surry. When the Nation's flag was fired upon he heeded his counrty's call and enlisted in the 48th Ind. regiment.
