Beatrice (Schatzman) Gottlieb, 89, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, Sept. 29, 2009, at her home. She was born in New Brunswick and has lived in Highland Park for many years. Mrs. Gottlieb worked as a clerk and secretary in the County Clerk Office for Middlesex County in New Brunswick for a very long time until her retirement in the 1980's. She was a member of both the Congregation of Ahavas Achim and Highland Park Conservative Temple and Congregation Anshe Emeth all her life.
Having been predeceased by her husband, Arthur, in 1965; her sons, Steven, in 1986, and Paul, in 2005, Mrs. Gottlieb is survived by her son, Michael and his wife Nell of Pasadena, Calif.; her sister, Cecilia Hext and her daughter, Rachel; her granddaughters, Dr. Erin Gottlieb of Houston, Texas, and Jillian Gottlieb of Pasadena, Calif.; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be graveside services at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 30 at Van Liew Cemetery, Georges Road, North Brunswick. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Crabiel Parkwest Funeral Chapel, New Brunswick.
