Funeral services for John Henry Powers will be held from Grace Church in Carroll County, Friday afternoon, conducted by Rev Patton of Tina. His death occurred Tuesday. Born in the state of Indiana July 24, 1854. Mr. Powers moved with his parents to Carroll County when a small boy and had since resided there. He was married Sept 23 1880 to Miss Amanda Hicks. To this union was born ten children, six of whom survive. They are Jim and Jake Powers of the home, William Powers, Dawn; Mrs. Dora Sharp, St. Joseph, Mrs. Kate Phillips, of Chillicothe, and Mrs. Labetha McCracken, Dawn, He also leaves 26 grand children, 23 great grand children, two sisters, Mrs. labetha Hicks, Blue Rapids, Kansas, and Mrs. Elizabeth Setler, Geary, Okla.
