Demaris was first married to B. F. Keel, she told the Judge whe wanted a divorce from him and the judge wouldn't grant it, so she just left him , and married Moses Edward Shelby...Roberta Jennings

Four of their children are buried in the Snow Hill Cemetary...there are two monuments, one facing East and one facing West.... the side of the monuments states: Children of M.E. and Macy Shelby

Mrs. Shelby, Comanche, Dies

COMANCHE Mrs. Macy D. Shelby, an area resident since 1903, died in Comanche Saturday afternoon after a short illness. She was 91.

Born Dec. 13, 1873, at Farmersville, Tex., she married Moses Edward Shelby on June 22, 1892. He died in 1945. She was a member of the Comanche Church of Christ.

Survivors include two sons, N. W. and Ernie, both of Comanche, six daughters, Mrs. Tempie Funkhouser, Comanche, Mrs. Georgia Elms, Littlefield, Tex., Mrs. Juanita Jolly, and Mrs. Opal Tidwell, both of Portland, Ore., Mrs., Alberta Nixon, Velma, and Mrs. Mamie Shortes, Fort Worth; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Brookins of Duncan; 23 grandchildren, 74 great grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren.

Funeral will be 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Church of Christ here, J. U. Bristo will officiate, assisted by Byron Fullerton, minister.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of Morehead-Elsey Funeral Home.

Bearers will be Frank Powers, Bud Brown, Jimmy Benson, Herb Percival, Robert Hanna, and G. C. Pickle.
