Services for Oliver Loving, 77, prominent cattleman and banker in Young and Jack Counties for many years in Graham were at the home of his daughter, Mrs. E.S. Graham.

Rev. R.J. LaPrade, Methodist pastor, officiated the services. He was buried at the Oak Grove cemetery beside his wife.

Loving died of a heart attack and was stricken at his ranch near Jermyn, but was not considered in a critical condition when brought to Graham.

He was the son of the late James C. Loving, one of the principal organizers and former secretary of Cattle Raiser's Association. He was the grandson of famed cattle drover, Oliver Loving, who all will remember played a prominent part in the development of this section of Texas.

Loving had been in the cattle, banking and land business in Jack and Young Counties for the greatest portion of his life. He was the owner of the Loving Banking company, one of the few private banks in Texas with branches at Jermyn, Jacksboro and Graham.

Loving is survived by two daughters - Mrs. E.S. "Lois" Graham of Graham and Mrs. Roy Jackson of Corpus Christi.

Oliver Loving grew up in the atmosphere of Indian raids. He had a good education and was a business minded man. Oliver Loving was a member of a pioneer family with ranching and business interests of Northwest Texas for four generations. Oliver Loving had his own ranch holdings at the age of 21 years. He owned 60,000 fenced acres called the Loving Pasture.

Mary Lois Kenan married Oliver Loving on 17 March 1884 at Seymour, Texas. After her marriage, Mary Lois lived on the Loving Ranch at Lost Valley in Jack County, Texas. The couple lived west of the town of Jermyn. To this union four children were born: James William Loving, Mary Ellen Loving, Oliver Loving, Jr., Lois Kenan Loving.
