Ruth Legg, 54, of 121 Oak street, died at 10:30 pm Thursday after being in poor health for some time. Funeral services are planned for 2 p. Sunday at the Kemp Methodist church with Dr. Charles Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Leatherman-Morris funeral home after 7 pm this evening and at the church from 2 to 3 on Sunday.
A native of Tipton county, Mrs. Legg was born Feb. 6, 1898, the daughter of Lee and Minnie (Fouch) Leavell. She attended school in Tipton and then went to Blaker's Teachers college in Indianapolis.
After her marriage to John Legg, June 28, 1921, she resided in Michigan for eight years before returning to Tipton She was the mother of two children, and a member of the Kemp Methodist church.
Survivors include the husband, the mother, one son, Jack Legg, of Tipton, Mrs. Betty Beach, of Akron, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Jess McAtee, of east Chicago, and Mrs. W.C. Cunningham, of Anderson; and four grandchildren.
