CECIL, AUGUSTUS V. 90, of Louisville, died, Monday, August 29, 2005, at Audubon Hospital - He was born February 16, 1915 in Raywick, KY. He was a retired employee of U. S. Naval Ordinance He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Dant Cecil; mother, Mary Regina Hughes Cecil; two brothers, William Clyde and George Lawrence Cecil. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Addie Cheshire Cecil; two daughters, Sylvia Estelle Cloyd (John) of Louisville, Cathy Arlene Arnold (Melvin) of Xenia, OH; four sons, Joseph Ronald Cecil (Kathy) of Jackson Gap, AL; Stephen Wayne Cecil (Judy) of Columbus, OH, Thomas Richard Cecil (Dot)of West Point, MS, Alton Ray Cecil (Debi) of Louisville; three sisters, Mary Katherine Blandford, Dorothy Mills (John),Gladys Brown (Joseph); six brothers, David Ambrose Cecil (Helen), Joseph Clyde Cecil (Marg), Robert Oldron Cecil (Geraldine), Edward Bertran Cecil (Mary), Michael Cecil (Patsy), Harold Anthony Cecil (Bobbie); 14 grandchildren; and 11 great- grandchildren The funeral will be held at 1p.m. Friday, September 2, 2005, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 6105 S. Third St., Louisville, KY, burial will be at 5 p.m. Friday in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Raywick, KY. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and 10:30 a.m.-12:15 p.m. Friday at Ratterman and Sons Funeral Home, 3800 Bardstown Rd. Arrangements by Mattingly Funeral Home in Loretto, KY.

A funeral Mass was held Sept. 2 at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Louisville, with burial in the St. Francis Xavier Cemetery in Raywick. Rev. Philip Erickson officiated.
Pallbearers were her grandsons: Mark and Larry Modesty, Greg Arnold, Kevin, Douglas, Jersey, Tony, Kenny and Brent Cecil. Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, was in charge of the arrangements. Buried, 9-02-2005, in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Raywick, Ky.
