Mrs. Catherine Stickel died at 3 oclock Friday afternoon at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. F. A. LeForgee, 150 W. North street. She was almost 89 years of age and had bee ill about one week.

She leaves two daughters, Mrs.Caroline Floyd of Mt. Zion and Mrs. F. A. LeForgee of Decatur, also three sisters in Pennsylvania and a brother Captain Umberger in, Kansas.
Catherine Umberger was born in York county, Pa. Sept 4, 1806. Her father was a captain in the war of 1812.She was the fourth of twelve children,nine girls and three boys all of whom lived to be honored and respected. Both of her parents lived to be over 80 years of age. At the age of twenty two years she was married to John Barton, a pioneer school teacher. Eight children were born to them, six of whom grew to manhood and womanhood. Two died in infancy and four died after attaining their majorities. Mrs. Floyd and Mrs. LeForgee being the only two childern left. On March 7, 1865 she was married to John Stickel, who died five years later.

She was a member of the Church of God for sixty five years and for thirty years had lived in Decatur. For a number of years she had made her home with Mrs. LeForgee on W.North street.

Arrangements for the funeral have not been made and the hour and place will be determined later.

1st marriage to John Barton July 12, 1802 - July 6, 1850 md. Nov. 4, 1828 Silver Springs Presbyterian Church, Mechanicsburg, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.

They had sons Joseph W. 1832, David D.1834, William H. 1841, and John 1844 and daughters Caroline K. 1836 and Mary Eleanor 'Nellie' 1845
