Fonda Mae Greene, age 77, of Centerville, Iowa died Thursday 27, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Fonda was born April 12, 1930, the daughter of Leon and Ilo (Watkins) Andrews in Dean, Iowa. She graduated from Centerville High School in 1947. She married Bob Greene, May 21, 1949 in Centerville, Iowa. Fonda was the secretary for the President of Pyramid Life Company in Kansas City and was a court recorder for the Army in Camp Roberts, California. Fonda worked seven years for Centerville National Bank and five years at Iowa Southern Utility. She was a member of the Drake Avenue Christian Church.
Fonda is survived by her husband; three sister, Wanda Summy, of Des Moines, Iowa, Carol(Donald)Swarts of Moulton, Iowa, and Mary(Tom)Campbell of Moulton, Iowa, three brothers, Jim(Beverly)Andrews of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and David(Sandra)Andrews of Stevenville, Texas; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, January 2, 2008 at the Thomas Lange Funeral Home, Centerville, Iowa with Rev. Carl Heien officiating. Burial will follow at the Hilltown Cemetery near Moulton, Iowa. Visitation will be held Wednesday until service at 1 pm. A memorial has been established and may be left at the funeral home.
