Ella Dahl, daughter of Charles A. and LaVada Caskey, was born in Rose Hill, Iowa, on November 12, 1896, and passed away September 17, 1978, at the Good Samaritan Home in Superior, Nebraska, at the age of 81 years, 10 months, and 5 days.
At an early age she moved with her parents to Missouri, where she lived for eight years. They moved to the Webber community in 1910, where she lived with the exception of the last seven months when she resided at the Good Samaritan Center in Superior.
She became a member of the Webber Methodist Church in 1950 and was active in the WSCS for many years.
She loved the beauty of flowers and for many years raised an abundance of beautiful roses. She enjoyed the tranquillity of the lake and spent many joyous early morning hours fishing and observing different kinds of birds around the lake.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Dahl, September 19, 1967, one daughter, Wauneta, and a granddaughter, Flo, on April 28, 1973.
Survivors are a son, Paul, of Webber; three grandchildren, Jerry and Curtis Dahl of Webber, Kansas, and Mrs. Richard Behrends (Denise) of McCook; a sister, Dolly Scherich of Olathe, Kansas; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 20, 1978, at the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior with Rev. Arnold Roland of Republic officiating. Music was provided by soloist, Mrs. Lawrence Bothwell, and organist was Mrs. John Price. Casketbearers were Dallas Diamond, Clarence Behrends, Randall Cleveland, Clarence Jensby, Fredrick Thomas, and Delbert Roper. Interment was in the Webber Cemetery at Webber.
