HIGH POINT, NC — John Craig Biddle, 85, a resident of High Point, died on Sunday, December 27, 2009, at Westchester Manor Nursing Center.
He was born in Elmira, New York, on April 9, 1924, to Robert E. and Ruth Wilcox Biddle.
Mr. Biddle was educated in the Elmira schools and graduated from Springfield College in Springfield, MA, in 1949, after service in the US Navy during World War II.
He and his family lived in Waverly, NY, Springfield, MA, Newington, CT, Winter Park, FL, and Tallahassee, FL, before retiring to High Point in 1989.
In 1953 he married the former Jennie Francis, who survives, of the home. He is also survived by a son, Stephen Craig Biddle of Orlando, FL; daughter, Kendra Biddle of High Point and a granddaughter, Kristen Li-Jie Biddle.
In addition, he leaves behind his sister, Anne Preston of Canton, and four nieces and three nephews.
A memorial service was held at 11 am on Wednesday morning, December 30, at First Presbyterian Church in High Point, with Reverend Dr. Kenneth Broman-Fulks and Reverend Lisa Mullen officiating.
