Charles Daniel Alger, 50, of Luray, died on Tuesday, Jan 3, 2006, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital.
He was born on 24 June 1955, in Stanley and was a son of the late Patrick Henry and Virginia Mae Campbell Alger.
Mr Alger was a carpenter.
On Oct 20, 1999 he married the former Clara M Kling, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two stepsons, David A Kling of Rileyville and Roy F Kling of Luray; a stepdaughter, Sheila M Powers of Purcellville; six brothers, Fred Henry, Earl Edward, Ronnie Dwight and Jackie A Alger, all of Stanley, Randolph C Alger of Shenandoah and James H Alger of Luray; five sisters, Mildred L Comer, Shirley Marie Thomas, Carol E "Bonnie" Buracker and Cathy Sue Cardin, all of Stanley and Deborah Faye Alger of McGaheysville and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Doris E Painter.
A funeral service was conducted on Friday, Jan 6 at the Luray Pentecostal Church by the Rev. Albert A Kling and John Good.
Burial in the Sandy Glaze Cemetery in Stanley.
