In the brilliantly lighted parlors of the residence of Mr. and Mrs. E. T. Rochester and in the presence of a host of relatives and friends, a happy marriage was consummated yesterday at 10:30 A. M. Mr. John T. Gano and Miss Clara Bell Helm, in a short but impressive ceremony, were made husband and wife by the father of the groom, Gen. R. M. Gano. The bride is a relative of the late Governor Helm and belongs to one of our oldest and best families. Mr. and Mrs. Gano, with a large party, who accompanied them as far as Junction City, left for a tour to Washington and New York, from whence they will go via Cuba to Texas.

Col. Welch received a dispatch from Arlington, Texas, yesterday telling of the sudden death of his niece, Mrs. Clara Helm Gano, who was a daughter of the late Mrs. E. T. Rochester by her first husband, Henry Helm. She married a son of Gen. R. M. Gano, a number of years ago and moved to Texas. Her husband died leaving her with three children. The remains, of course, will be buried with those of her husband and mother in Texas. Mrs. Gano was a lovely woman and had many friends here, who will grieve to learn that she is no more.
