Iron Henry Mueller better known as Dutch, son of Diedrich Mueller and his wife Bertha (Haack) Mueller, was born in Nemaha County, Nebraska on November 6, 1906 He was baptized on November 7, 1906 at St. John's Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on March 27, 1921.
The Mueller family came to Bird City in 1911. Dutch started farming in the early thirties in both Kansas and Colorado. He was the owner of the Mueller Grain Company at Goodland with a branch at Caruso.
He married Ruby Elliot on July 31, 1938. They were blessed with to daughters: Janice and Vicki.
Dutch was an active member of St. Johns Lutheran Church, having served as an usher for many years. He was a member of the Goodland Chamber of Commerce, the Elks and the Bird City Community Club, the Tri-State Antique Threshers Association, and has served as a board member for the Goodland Vocational Technical School and Wartburg College.
Iron Henry Mueller passed away at the Kansas Medical Center in Goodland on October 4, 1980.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, his twin brother Elmer, Lester and Glenn.
Services were held on Tuesday, October 7th at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery. Interment was in the Bird City Cemetery.
