Born Rosa Flaviana Maria Basciani to Emidio and Anna on April 26, 1921, in Civitella del Tronto, Italy, she traveled to America with her parents, at a young age, in search of a better life.
Settling in Toughkenamon, for more than 80 years, she was the oldest daughter and was preceded by her parents; her sister, Dora; and brothers, Emidio Jr. "Chicken" and Flavian.
Rose was a wonderful, strong, loving woman who helped everyone.
She worked as a seamstress, sewing seams in nylon stockings at the hosiery mill in Kennett Square. She also helped clean St. Patrick Church and St. Gabriel's Church.
She was also a member of St. Gabriel's choir.
She was kind, gentle, a mother to us all.
On Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2010, the world lost an amazing woman, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a sister, an aunt; a friend.
She was always surrounded by loved ones, be it family or friends.
She is survived by her loving husband of 63½ years, Anthony Di Fabio; her daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Joe Di Angelis; grandchildren, Angela Di Angelis, and Jo Anne and Eric Hoopes; brother and sister-in-law, Mario and Anna Basciani; sisters-in-law, Joyce, Betty and Ann Basciani; and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Family meant everything to her, and she will be greatly missed. We love you!
