Alexander Burruss Nuckolls was a stern man. He was a no nonsense preacher. As Justice of the Peace for the 885 Militia District of Forsyth County, he married many family members and was involved in several churches locally in Forsyth County.
Some of the Churches he pastored include:

Beaver Run,
Antioch,
Friendship,
Providence,
Shoal Creek,
Flat Creek,
Lawrenceville and
Coal Mountain (1st Pastor)

He was a land owner. In the 1886-1887 Georgia Gazetteer, he is listed as having a farm on which he raised corn. The farm consisted of 720 acres.
In addition, he ran the Nuckoll's Cotton Gin.
