Served in a company raised by Jacob Friend during the Dunmore's War.A prelude to the Revolutionary War fought in 1774.Fought in the Battle of Point Pleasant (now West Virginia) on Oct 10,1774.A force of 1100 American troops fought a force of 300-500 Shawnee and Mingo Indians.Lost in the battle was 75 Americans killed and 150 wounded while the Indians had 33 casualties,even with these figures it was considered a victory for the Americans.Jacob Friends company only had 20 survivors of the battle,Cornelous King being one of those.There is not a lot of information on King's Revolutionary service other then him being granted a veteran's pension.
In 1785 he was living in Kentucky, moving to Orange Co,IN,then on to Morgan Co.,IN.
