|Death: ||1867, USA|
Dr. Robert M. Buck was born in 1824, probably in Ohio, after his parents, Robert N. Buck and Sarah McConnell, moved from Central Pennsylvania with his brother, Henry. Robert married Priscilla West in Stark County, Ohio. The marriage data was taken from IGI. The birth and death years are taken from "Cemetery Inscriptions - Buck, Stark County Volume #1, V061251 St. 795 Pennsylvania Historical Society." An Affidavit of Harry N. Buck, a grandson of Robert M. and Priscilla Buck, lists the seven children of Robert M. and Priscilla Buck.
Robert was a practicing physician and surgeon in Freedom and Alliance, Ohio. In the "History of Stark County 1881" on page 431, Robert M. Buck was shown having been commissioned as a Justice of the Peace in 1852. According to the "Alliance History", Dr. R. M. Buck was listed as a Physician and Surgeon in the December 16, 1854 issue of the Alliance Ledger and Family Journal. Also, in the "Alliance History" on page 23, it stated "John H. Sharer in his early history of Alliance says that Henry Chance was captain of a militia company in the early forties and when the Mexican War broke out there were several representatives from here that responded to the country's call. Among the members I can recollect Dr. R. M. Buck et al.
After the war, Dr. Buck returned and practiced medicine for a number of years. He was an honored and respected citizen."
