NOTE: The death record for Parmelia shows her name as Mrs. P. A. Hammond. Dr. John Chesed Purnell HAMMOND was her second husband. This shows that her middle name was spelled with an A not an E. Also, one of her daughters, Ella Lee HAMMOND Banks, named her two daughters after her mother and the mother of her husband. One Caroline the other Avaline who's headstone shows the name spelled "Avaline". Her death certificate, however, has it spelled "Aveline". The spelling of Parmelia's last name comes from the fact that one of her brothers, John Milton SANDIDGE, was a representative from Louisiana so the name was well documented with the spelling "SANDIDGE" as opposed to "SANDRIDGE".
