Our loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, Carl R. Jack Hatch passed away peacefully on December 30, 2009 at his home.
He was born September 3, 1927 in Grand Junction, Colorado to Carl L. and Annie Politano Hatch.
Married Jolene Toson on April 13, 1951 in Elko, Nevada.
Jack served in the U. S. Navy from 1945 to 1950 in the Pacific Theatre and later as a part of the Berlin airlift. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Knights of Columbus, Lions Club, and B.P.O. Elks Lodge #1550. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, and the good times with family and friends at his cabin in Scofield Reservoir. Jack was instrumental in starting little league football in Carbon County, and acted as a coach and official for the program. He also coached little league baseball for many years and touched the lives of many of the local youth. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survived by his wife, Jolene, Helper; children, Monty R. (Paula) Hatch; Shelly (Rick) Olsen, both of Helper; Jack D. (Elena) Hatch, Valparaiso, Indiana; brother, Dwaine Hatch, Washington State; eleven grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Danny Olsen; daughter-in-law, Norma Hatch.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 2, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. A Vigil Service will be held on Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Church in Helper. The family will be at the Church on Friday and Saturday one hour prior to the services.
Committal: Mountain View Cemetery, Helper.
