BATTERSHELL MEMORIAL DEDICATION
A new lighted scoreboard at the large ball diamond is scheduled to be dedicated Sunday evening in memory of Lee Battershell, strong supporter of local youth sports program who was killed last year when the city tractor he was using to mow with overturned. The large scoreboard was mounted several days ago off the west edge of the diamond and more recently the Lee Battershell Memorial sign was added. The dedication will be in connection with a game with the Salina American Legion team. It is also scheduled to be Youth League night at the diamond. The scoreboard was financed through a memorial fund and donations.

(This ball diamond located on West Taylor St in Lyons at the Rice Co 4-H fairgrounds is now called Battershell Field.)
