Zula E. Bryan, 71, of Newton, passed away this morning at her home. She was born Jan. 2, 1900 in Jasper County.

She was married to Gobem Bryan, who survives. Also surviving are sons Donald of Evansville, Ind., Maynard of Henderson, Ky., and Burton of Olney; daughters, Mrs. Maxine Weitz of Chenoa and Jualice Purlock of Wheeler; a brother, George Clark of Piper City; and a sister, Beulah Land of Hidalgo.

Services will be at the Newton Central Christian Church, with Rev. Charles Johnson officiating. Burial will be in Bailey Cemetery.
