Birth: Jun. 6, 1902
Death: Apr. 12, 1982

Alma Swain was born at Wilmington, North Carolina on June 8, 1903 to Daniel Leon Swain and Clara Gilbert Swain. The family moved to Georgia sometime after 1910 and Alma married John B. Courson on June 27, 1919 at Charlton County, Ga. It appears that their daughter, Ponnie Mae came first on April 26, 1918. Alma and John are living at Lulaton, Wayne County in 1920 without Ponnie. I think she may have been living with the Edward Sutters at Homerville. By 1930 Ponnie is back with her father and stepmother. John and Alma parted ways by 1924 as Alma married John E. Johnson on March 28, 1924 at Duval County Florida.. John lists himself as born in Canada in 1903. I do not know how long this marriage lasted or if any children were produced, but Alma married Freeman Adkins in 1942 in Duval County and stated she had been divorced at Waycross. She and Freeman divorced in 1948 in St. Johns County Florida . Alma died at Waycross, Georgia on April 12, 1982 and is buried in Kettle Creek Cemetery with her parents.
