GREENSBORO - Mr. Edgar Lawrence Behling, 89, died Wednesday, December 30, 2009, at Moses Cone Hospital.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2010, at George Brothers Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Lakeview Memorial Park.

Mr. Behling was of the Baptist faith, and was a decorated World War II veteran while serving in the United States Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Behling, of Greensboro; children, Albert and wife, Dot Behling, Donna and husband, Charles Handy, and Vicky and husband, Ronnie Collie, all of Greensboro. Also surviving are one brother, six grandchildren, five great- grandchildren, and one great- great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Friday, January 1, at George Brothers Funeral Service, and other times at the home of Donna and Charles Handy, 1111 Ritters Lake Road in Greensboro.
