Several family trees on Ancestry.com have claimed to know the parents of David Jordan, but none of them offer any proof, nor can they give correct sources.
"David Jordan was born about 1775; his indicated age in 1830 Census being between 50 and 60 years, and his wife's age between 30 and 40. His wife was born 1800 in North Carolina according to the 1850 Census of Ware county; she was Delphia Jordan, daughter of Abraham Minchew (Vol. IV). Nothing has been learned as to the early life, place of birth or parentage of David Jordan. His first appearance in Georgia, as found so far, was in Glynn County where he registered for the 1805 Land Lottery, having only one draw which showed that he was unmarried. His brother, Joseph Jordan, was also at that time in Glynn and was a registrant in same land lottery with one draw. Another brother, James Jordan, had married in 1797 and was living in Camden County in 1805 in said lottery. David and Delphia Jordan had six children in the 1830 Census of Ware County; three more were born afterwards. These nine were:
1. Rachel b. 1818, never married.
2. Mary b. 1820, m. William T. Sweat, March 28, 1839.
3. John b. 1821, m. Lucretia -------- ; no issue. Died 1853.
4. Phoebe b. 1825, m. James Sweat. March, 1841.
5. Abraham b. 1826, m. Matilda Thomas, dau. of Banner.
6. Joseph b. 1829, m. Rebecca
7. Henry b. 1832, m. Eliza Henderson, dau. of Berrien.
8. Randall b. 1835, m. Susan Miller, dau. of David J.
9. Ellen b. 1837, died single.
David Jordan served in Capt. Robert L. Gamble's company of Georgia militia in the War of 1812; he enlisted March 26, 1814, for six months, and was honorably discharged Sept. 12, 1814, at Point Peter, Ga., according to company rolls. He was living in Emanuel County in the 1820 Census, and moved about five or six years later to Ware County, and lived there until his death about 1837-8. His wife survived about thirty years and died in Ware County about 1868-70."

The Old Minchew Tuten Cemetery is currently being restored and as of yet the graves of David and Delphia Minchew Jordan have not been found. No one is sure that they are still there as this cemetery has been vandalized over time. Hopefully the descendants will come forward and place a marker for David and Delphia if their original tombstones can't be found.
