Melba B. Burnett, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother and sister passed away June 16, 1994 of natural causes.

Born December 24, 1903 in Vineyard, Utah, the daughter of Silas M. and Sophia Stevens Brewer.

Married Kenneth W. Burnett in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on June 20, 1923.

She was the ultimate compassionate woman who devoted her life to her family and to the service of others.

She was always there to help and encourage the sick and those less fortunate.

Her compassion and service touched many lives.

She was a Primary and MIA teacher for many years also serving as a counselor in the Relief Society.

Later she served a mission with her husband in the England Birmingham Mission where she served as a counselor in the Leichter Stake Relief Society Presidency.

She and her husband served together as temple workers in the Salt Lake LDS Temple for 12 years.

She also served in several civic organizations.

She and her loving husband celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary June 20, 1993.

She loved God's creations always reminding us to take time to smell the flowers and see the sunsets.

Survived by her husband Kenneth; three daughters, Marie Housley and husband, Leland, of Dallas, Texas; Marjorie Hess, Louise Greco; one son, Kenneth L. Burnett, all of Salt Lake; 23 grandchildren, 73 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, two sisters and one brother.

Preceded in death by her parents, daughter, LaRue Wilde, son, Byron, six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services 12 noon, Monday June 20, 1994 at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary Chapel, 3401 Highland Drive, where friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday from 11-11:45 a.m. prior to services.

Interment will be in the Salt Lake City Cemetery 4th Avenue and "N" Street.
