1870 Jun 8 Census, Elias W. DAVIS age 45, wife Elizabeth age 41, son William H. age 13, Dau. Mary J. age 10 & Frank age 8 residing in rental house at 137 ?, Douds Station Township, County of Van Buren, IA, Post Office in Birmingham.

1879 - 1885 Lived in Mt Plesant, Des Moines, Council Bluffs, working as a stone cutter.
1885 moved to Red Oak, IA.

1895 Jul, Census, William H. DAVIS age 37, wife Lizzie age 23, Dau. Bessie age 1, also residing with them was John NORTHCUTT age 54, married, laborer.

1900 Census, William age 49, Wife Lizzie age 28, married 6 years, Dau. Bessie age 6.

1905, Census, William H. DAVIS age 47, wife Lizzie age 33, Dau. Bessie age 11.

1910 Census, William H. age 53, wife Lizzie age 37, Dau. Bessie age 16, Mother-in-law Rachel HUNTER age 65 Widow, 11 children with 9 living.

1920 Census, living with the family is Marie DURLAND (niece) age 20, Rachel HUNTER (mother-in-law) age 74.
