Eules 'Jim' Reeves

Funeral services for Eules "Jim" Reeves, 79, of Muldrow, were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, at the Gum Springs Freewill Baptist Church, with Rev. James Rice officiating.

Burial was in Gum Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Millsap Funeral Service of Webbers Falls.

He was born on May 20, 1924, in Russellville, Ark., to Archie and Minnie (Laymon) Reeves. He died on Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, in his home.

Mr. Reeves was a former resident of Gore for 42 years before moving to Muldrow in 2002. He was a retired labor foreman for a construction company and a member of the Gum Springs Freewill Baptist Church.

He married Marie James on Dec. 16, 1950, in West Plains, Mo.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Reeves of the home; his children, Archie and Susan Reeves and Debbie and Loyd Qualls, all of Gore, Carl and Carol Reeves of Redland and Kirk and Cindy Reeves of Muldrow; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father, Henry Chisum; two sisters, an infant and Ruth Buttery; and two brothers, Alfred and Tim Chisum.

Pallbearers were Danny Webster, J.C. Hart, Clifford Fritts, Bucky Clark, Cleatis Jones and Jeff Ferguson.

Honorary pallbearers were Steve Hayes and Otis Free.
