Naomi M. Hopkins, 85, a resident of the Knox County Nursing Home, Knoxville, formerly of Avon, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday (Oct 30, 1994) in the nursing home.

She was born Sept. 23, 1909 in Avon, the daughter of Benjamin H. and Nellie Slater Stephenson.

She married Orrie Clayton in 1925. He died. She married George Hopkins in 1949.

Surviving are two sons, Robert Clayton, Galesburg, and Daryle Clayton, Avon; three daughters, Martha Clayton, Avon, Beverly Clayton, Peoria and Sue Kitchen, Galesburg; one brother, Kenneth Stephenson, Blandinsville, nine grandchildren, and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, four brothers and one sister.

She lived in the Avon community most of her life.

She was a member of the Avon Federated Church.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wedensday in Corman Memorial Home, Avon, with the Rev. Jon Prain officiating. Friends may call at the funeral Tuesday from noon until the service. Burial will be in Avon Cemetery.
