Elizabeth Lee Doehring, 75, the daughter of Claude and Ardis (Canfield) Canning, was born Oct. 17, 1925, on a farm near Munden. She died Thursday at Brodstone Memorial Nuckolls County Hospital, Superior.
She was a graduate of Chester Public High School, married Arlo Doehring June 9, 1946, at her parents farm near Munden.
She taught school for two years in Thayer County District 9 and 77. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Superior, Neb., for 37 years. She was a member of the Bible study and served as a past president in the women's church organization.
She lived in the communities of Hubbell, Chester, Lexington, Grand Island, Lincoln and Superior.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Arlo; daughter, Mrs. Gary Gunn (Arleeta Beth), Chester; sons, Varyl Alvin, Lincoln, and Kim Irvin, Wichita; nine grandchildren, one great-grandson; two brothers, Virgil Canning, Seward and Lynn Canning, Overland Park.
Services were Tuesday from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Neb., with the Rev. Harold Backus officiating.
Interment was in the Chester Cemetery.
