Calvin Leroy Barnes, 81, of Tullahoma, Tenn., died Oct 13, 2004. He was born May 27, 1923, in Escatawpa, Miss., and was the son of the late Albert Noll Barnes and Gracie Rice Barnes. He worked in aerospace engineering with both A.E.D.C. and later with Micro Craft, Inc., where he retired.
Mr. Barnes was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and also served as a minister with the church. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and was a most loving father and husband.
He is survived by his wife, Kate M. Barnes of Tullahoma, Tenn.; daughter Katrina D. Barnes of Atlanta, GA.; sons Kelly Barnes of Manchester, Tenn.; Calvin Barnes of Atlanta, GA.; sisters, Wilda [Howard] Ware,, Wanda [Donald] Hamm, Ivan Parker, all of Escatawpa, Miss.; three grandchildren, Chris Barnes, Calvin Barnes, Angela Arp; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p m Saturday, Oct 16, at Holder-Wells Funeral Home in Moss Point.
Funeral services will be at 2 p m Sunday, Oct 17, at the Escatawpa Community of Christ Church with High Priest Donald Hamm and Elder Terry Breland officiating.
Interment will follow in the Reorganized Latter Day Saints Cemetery in Escatawpa.
