George's parents are George Chase and Alice Suggitt.

George married Gladys Ilene Deppe on June 6, 1940, in Clinton, Iowa. George and Gladys had the following children: George Edwin, Wayne Stanley, Stephon Theron, and Lyla L.

In addition to his wife and children, George was survived by two sisters, Marian Feurer of Wyanet and Ethel House of New Hope, Minn, and nine grandchildren.

George's obit describes him as a "World War II Army veteran, serving as a sergeant. He was a grocer."

Services were held at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Homein Wyanet with the Rev. Marvin Claassen officiating.
