SONORA - Addie Maxine Lang Locklin, born Feb. 25, 1917, to Floyd Earl Lang and Carrie Summer Whittemore in Texhoma, Okla., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 4, 1997.

She is survived by her son, William Robert and his wife, Janice Ellingson, of Billings, Mont.; three grandchildren, Tanya and husband, Dave Kimmer, of Beaverton, Ore., Kenneth and wife, Debbie Ellingson of Billings, and Shirley Ellingson of Missoula, Mont.; three great-grandchildren, Moriah and Drew Kimmer and Kasey Ellingson; three sisters, Erma Eaton of Eureka, Kan., Betty Hurst of Newton, Kan., and Ruth Cooper of Junction, Texas; three brothers, Gene Lang of Eureka, Bill Whittemore of Edmond, Okla., and Bob Whittemore of Seattle; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dave Locklin; a brother, Edgar Lang; and a sister, Shirley Spier.

Maxine started her career in law enforcement as a secretary in the police department then becoming court clerk and moving into the position of municipal judge which she held at the time of her death. Throughout her career as a municipal judge, she was involved in and started many community projects in Sonora, Texas. A few of the programs she was involved with were "The Coming Age", "Child Protection Board", "The Angel Project", "Call-A-Teen Program", "The Veterans Program with the VFW", "Mens Municipal Court Association", "Boy Scout Blue and Gold Program", "Family Shelter, the winter coat program" and "The School Advisory". Her great love of people and of God was shown in these programs and many other ways.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 9, at the First United Methodist Church in Sonora with Eastern Star graveside services to follow in Sonora Cemetery.

Arrangements are by Kerbow Funeral Home.

The family requests all donations be made to Sutton County Community Trust in care of First National Bank.

Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother lived and dies by God's word.
