Veryl Mathis, age 70, of Cosby, went to be with the Lord Saturday, March 1, 2008, at St. Mary's Health Care in Knoxville.

She attended the Caney Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Mathis; son Danny Mathis; brothers Earl Mathes, Glenn Benson, Jessie Mathes, Jeff Mathes, and Berlson Mathes.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in law, Lucille and Robert Barnes, Jeannie and Jay Naillon, of Cosby, and Lou Anna and Bruce Quick, of Cleveland, Tenn.; brother and sister-in-law, Worley and Virginia Mathes, of Mosiem; brothers, Roy Mathes, of Rogersville, and Gene Dunn, of Newport; sister and brother-in-law, Lilly and Gene Abbott, of Sevierville; grandchildren, Dustin Naillon, Jennifer and Luke Lunsford, Amanda Mathis, and Tiffany Lowery; great-grandchild, Hunter Collins.
She will also be missed by several nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

Funeral Services will be held 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 4, 2008, in the Manes Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Laws, the Rev. Sonny Webb, and the Rev. Daniel Sizemore officiating.
The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Monday March 3, 2008, at Manes Funeral and will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, prior to the funeral services.
Burial will be 11 a.m. Wednesday March 5, 2008 at Allens Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
