MIDDLETON - Edward J. Hollfelder, age 87, passed away on Friday, April 6, 2007, at the HospiceCare Center in Fitchburg.

He was born on Jan. 18, 1920, the son of Anton F. and Theresa (Laufenberg) Hollfelder.

Ed was united in marriage to Vera Ann Lochner on April 23, 1941, in Madison. She preceded him in death in 2001. Ed worked at Graber Industries for 35 years, retiring in 1982.

He was active at St. Bernard's Catholic Church serving as Parish Council president for two years; president of the 5-0 Club for eight years; chairman of Properties Commission for two terms as well as many other church related activities.

Ed is survived by his six children, Thomas A. (Bea) Hollfelder of Covina, Calif., James E. (Jackie) Hollfelder of Madison, Luanne (David) Raynoha of Cedarville, Ark., Linda (Lloyd) Chadwick of Poynette, Lori (Denny) Brehm of Madison, and Lois (Jim) Petrie of Stoughton; nine grandchildren, Cathryn D. Perriman, Carol A. Brown, Lisa Ruetten, Jennifer Rygg, Jamey Hollfelder, Scott Hollfelder, Tim Raynoha, Lance Enger, and Kerry Enger; seven great-grandchildren, Rhea, Otto, Hope, Maddie, Carly, Kaitlyn, and Kayla; a sister, Berdella Lowenberg; a brother, Melvin (Jeanette) Hollfelder; two sisters-in-law, Mary Hollfelder and Tilda Hollfelder; and his beloved dog, Scotty.

In addition to his wife Vera, Ed was preceded in death by an infant son, Anton; his parents; and two brothers, Gilbert and Virgil.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at ST. BERNARD'S CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7450 University Ave., Middleton, at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2007, with Monsignor Douglas Dushack presiding. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery.
