Plymouth, Wis.—(Special)—Fred Menke, 85, a veteran harness dealer, passed away Sunday at his home in Potter after a lengthy illness.
Deceased was born in Oldenburg, Germany, on Nov. 15, 1853, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Menke. He came to America when he was 15 years of age, settling in Potter. He was married to Miss Fredericka Albers at Potter on Oct. 31, 1880. His wife preceded him in death in 1933. One son also preceded him in death.
Survivors are four sons, Hugo H., of Washington, D.C., Max E., of Nekoosa, Wis., Rev. Otto A. Menke, of Plymouth, route 1, Ernst, of Kiel; 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; a brother, Ernst of Kiel. A son preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be held at the residence and at the Peace Reform church. the Rev. Julius ??? will be in charge and burial will be made at Potter.
