Samuel Houston Bullion was the son of George Wilson Bullion and Columbia Ann Phenix. His mother and two aunts with their children traveled by covered wagon from Waco, Texas and homsteaded in the Middle Animas Valley of New Mexico after 1905. Mrs. Bullion donated land for a school and cemetery near their "Valley Ranch." The school was adobe and was built by the cemetery. Samuel had an accident of some sort and suffered from seizures. He is believed to have died after one of his seizures.
