Evelyn Mae was born August 31, 1925, in Stanley, Kansas, the daughter of Herbert Adam and Myrtle Gladys (Piper) Kinman, and had lived most of her adult life in the Manhattan, Kansas area.
On February 20, 1944, in Manhattan, she was married to J. Eldon Henton. They were blessed with seven children.
Evelyn was a homemaker and a school bus driver for many years prior to working 19 years at Kansas State University Veterinary Medicine.
She was a member of the Zeandale Community Church and Zeandale Senior Citizens.
Evelyn Mae Henton, age 84, of rural Manhattan, Kansas died December 14, 2009, at Stoneybrook Retirement Community in Manhattan.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, of the home. Additional survivors include seven children: John Henton and his wife Donna and James Henton and his wife Linda of Blair, NE, Gladys Conrow and her husband Jack of Manhattan, Alice Anderson and her husband Don of Topeka, KS, Mary Jo McHugh and her husband Ralph, Janet Lee and her husband Neil and Kathern Fronce and her husband Dan all of Manhattan; 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one sister, Dorothea Kiene of Shawnee, KS and a sister-in-law: Kathern Kleiner of Wamego, KS.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel with Reverend Wesley Paddock officiating. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery southeast of Manhattan.

Funeral services were Thursday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel. Interment was in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, southeast of Manhattan.
