Morris worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad Company, Seneca Division from November 7, 1911. He was certified as a Steam Locomotive Engineer and received a promotion to that classification on Nov. 19, 1913. He work in that capacity until he became ill.

The Oak Mount Sanitarium in East Bloomfield, Ontario County, NY was established in 1910 to treat tuberculosis patients. It was here that Morris passed away leaving a wife, Reva and daughter, Georgia.
