Harry Alfred Higby, son of George E. and Nellie Hunt Higby, was born June 22, 1914 at Hartville, Mo., and passed from this life Aug. 31, 1975 at his home in Hubbell, Nebr. He had attained the age of 61 years, two months and nine days.

Harry was permitted very little formal education, but was well educated in the school of life. He worked most of his life to give his children a better chance at life than he had.

On Dec. 22, 1945 he was united in marriage with Mary M. Stansbury, and three children came to bless this union.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one son. He leaves at his passing, his wife, Mary; one daughter, Kathy; two sons, Robert and Mark; one sister, Ruth Vining of Hubbell; two brothers, James W. of Smith Center, Kans., and George of Mountain Grove, Mo.; along with other relatives and many, many friends.

Services were held Sept. 3, 1975 at the Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Chapel in Chester. Rev. Don E. Collison officiated at the service and Mrs. Ray Truss served as organist. Pallbearers were Jim Seaman, Ralph Laverentz, Carl Stradley, Elmer Harms, Donald Laverentz, Clay Cafferty. The military services were conducted by State Line Legion Post 317 of Hubbell, Nebr. Interment was in the Chester Cemetery.
