Elizabeth Magdeline Knight, the daughter of Willis Levi and Ida Elizabeth VanDyke Knight, she was born December 9, 1906, in Powersville.
Miss Knight, 79, formerly of Livonia, died Thursday, March 13, 1986 in Schuyler County Nursing Home at Queen City where she had been a resident nearly a year.
Miss Knight was reared in Putnam County. She attended Northeast Missouri State University where she received her teaching degree. For 15 years, Miss Knight taught in rural schools in Putnam County, including Cook School, Wells School, Brown School, Pierson School and Dorsett School.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in the St. John community.
Surviving are one brother, John Knight of Unionville and two sisters, Anna Lee Cooley of Farmington, New Mexico and Helen Martin of Glenwood.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Tom Knight; three sisters, Beula Riley, Floy Cassady and Effie Stoffgren and one nephew, Jack Cooley. Funeral services were held at 1:30 Sunday, March 16, 1986 in Broadlawns Funeral Home in Unionville. The Rev. Bill Peters, pastor of the Unionville Baptist Church, conducted the services. Music was provided by Dr. F. Tom Dory, singing, "Whispering Hope" and "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder." Burial was in the Unionville Cemetery.
Bearers were Jim Hamilton, Connie Cooley, John Knight, Tony Knight, Tim Stoffrgen [sic] and Roy Morgan.
