This family left Norway APril 1861 destination Chicago, Illinois. They soon make tracks for South Dakota and settled permanently in the area of Alexandria, SD. Tudick never married because he was "retarded", and was prone to outbursts--he was never to talk to anyone but his father or older brother. When the family could no longer care for him, he was sent to the State Mental Institution in Redfield, SD. He died of illness shortly after at the age of 54 yrs.
Was cared for by his family his entire life.
