Gerardo "Roy" Acosta, 75, of Bryan, passed away on December 20, 2009. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2009 at Trevino-Smith Funeral Home with a 6 p.m. rosary.

Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Willow Hole Cemetery, North Zulch, Texas.

He was born in Steel Store, Texas, to Joe and Ramona Acosta. Roy liked to fish and spent his time tending to his animals. He could often be seen riding his little red scooter and visiting his neighbors.

He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Ramona Acosta; two sisters, two brothers and a grandson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Margaret Acosta, of Bryan; sons, Michael Acosta and wife, Dora, of Hearne, James Acosta and wife, Kathy, of Bryan; daughters, Carolyn Gutierrez, of Bryan, Tammy Medina and husband, Rodrigo, of Bryan; brother, Leon Acosta and wife, Betty, of Bryan; sisters, Carolina Castillo and husband, Fidel, of Bryan, Mary Alaman and husband, Manuel, of Bryan, Rosie Alvarez, of Bryan; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
